Ways of fundraising with MK SNAP

Fundraising is all part of the challenge and we know it can be difficult to keep asking the same friends and family to support you. Here are some ideas that will help spread your reach.

Challenge sponsorship

An online giving page with VirginMoneyGiving.com is easy to set up and will set you off to a great start for your challenge target such as a marathon, walk, mountain-climb, challenge, bike ride, swimathon, head shave.but it shouldn’t be the only way you think about fundraising.

Easy fundraising ideas

Hold your own event at work or at home or school etc. Events like a cake sale, raffle, auction night, (requests face to face, emails, calls, letters to local companies, shops, business for items or experiences that money can’t buy), organise a meal/curry night (asking your favourite local restaurant to provide the food and charge per person to cover food and a charitable donation), a quiz night, treasure hunt, bingo night.

The most important thing for any fundraising event is to do something you enjoy and that everyone has fun!

Fundraiser Stories

Co-op

MK SNAP was elected as a charity for the Co-op Local Community Fund. This meant just over £6,000 was raised for MK SNAP. Every time a member shopped at the Co-op, 1% of what they spent on selected own-brand products and services went to the fund.

MK Lakeside Runners

We enjoyed wonderful support from MK Lakeside Runners being chosen as the club’s Charity of the Year under the Chair of David Lewis. Almost £5,000 was raised from events including club quiz nights, raffles, BBQ and buffet sales. Special thanks to Alex Stobbs and David Foxy Bailey for running the 2019 London Marathon for MK SNAP; Norman Baker for the Thunder Run solo; to Celia Webb and to Kate Roses company for match funding the bottle raffle.

Biergarten customers & staff

SNAP supporter, Franzi Florack not only ran in the 2018 London Marathon for SNAP but also raised over £500 from collection boxes at The Biergarten, the multi-award-winning micropub and bottle shop, based in North Milton Keynes.
